Who We Are

Welcome to our little corner of the world! We are Andy and Georgie, the husband-and-wife team behind The Hearth & Acre.

Our journey together began over seven years ago when we married, but our shared love for nature and sustainable living goes back to our university days at a specialist institution deeply rooted in agriculture and sustainable thinking.

By day, Andy works as a Senior Quality Engineer in manufacturing, while Georgie works as an Academic Support Librarian at a university. At home, our lives are beautifully full, shared with our two beloved dogs, ten chickens, three rabbits, and two guinea pigs.

How the Journey Began
As passionate tea drinkers, our favourite moments have always been the quiet ones: sitting together in the garden, watching our chickens, and just being present with a warm mug in hand. Two years ago, Andy began growing his own herbs and researching their natural properties. During his deep dive, he uncovered that the vast majority of commercial loose-leaf teas are flash-dried, a harsh process that strips away the essential, potent oils where all the natural goodness lives.

Driven to do things better, we sought out a UK supplier that shares our values, slow-growing and naturally drying their herbs to preserve their maximum potency. From these, Andy carefully crafted our signature line of four loose-leaf herbal blends to align perfectly with your body’s natural daily rhythms. They are designed to encourage you to pause, breathe, and be entirely present throughout your day.

The Dream Ahead
Right now, we are embarking on our biggest adventure yet. By early-to-mid 2027, we are moving our family and animals to a smallholding in beautiful Carmarthenshire. Our ultimate dream is to bring every single stage of our tea production directly onto our own land, growing, harvesting, and naturally drying 100% of our herbs right from our own soil.

We are so incredibly proud to share this dream with you, one slow, mindful cup at a time. Thank you for being a part of our story!
